My buddy bought one new and we made a trip to the range this morning.  I've shot 17's, 19's and have handled others. This was the first 10mm I've ever shot in four + decades of shooting.  This Glock is a DAMN nice shooting handgun. I was expecting a recoil similar to something between a .357 and a .44 mag.  It was surprisingly tame. The damn thing shot great!  Now I'm considering buying one of these.

I just shot a GLOCK for the first time on Sunday, great pistols! It was a model 30 the range I was at had for rent and it was a blast! Didn't want to feed/extract the wadcutter reloads the guy gave us at first, which was odd, but from Aguila 230grs went through perfect.

I'd like to try a 10mm as well, but damn I need to buy that 30

Have a G20C and a G29 and they are a blast to shoot.

Full power 10MM loads are quite impressive.

Danny

P.S. 5 -10's here total.

How does the G20 handle the double tap loads?  Follow up shots?

10 MM is an awsome round, versitle and fairly powerfull. The Glock 20 is one of the better and more problem free guns to chamber it. Finding the brass to reload sucks though. You still just about cant go wrong with the 10MM / G20 combo.

I just send Mike from DoubleTap an email asking about what kind of powder they use to load their ammo.  He says it's not available to the public, damnit!!

I'd love to chrono some of his ammo.  he sure publishes some crazy velocities.  230 grain .45ACP, NOT +P at over 1,000 FPS from a 5" BBL.

Well above any max load even for +P that I can find.

I believe those are actual chronographed numbers too.

Now the goal is to find a powder slow enough to recreate this velocity.

I'm pretty sure the powder DoubleTap uses is a specially blended product.

I'm not sure you could duplicate his loads safely.

I would disagree with that.  A few years ago, he was doing his own handloads and had to buy the same powder as we did.  And he was getting high velocities then too.

I could be wrong.

I was planning to use it that way, but after multiple squibs in two boxes of .45 I decided that RA45T is probably not so bad after all.

I can't afford to test 1,000s of rounds of DT which I would now need to do to trust it.
