Hey guys, first post hopefully of many more. I searched but did not find anything on this gun...

I'm looking for input as this will be my first handgun. Besides picking up a Sig P229 SAS I'm interested in revolvers.

Anyone own a S&W Model 327? What are your thoughts/opinions on this gun.

Thanks a lot!
Eric

Thanks for the input this is exactly what I'm looking for.

I want something functional and it caught my eye because it looked pretty small. I'm pretty set on getting something new. Anythign you can suggest I take a look at?

Thanks again

Take a look at my ammo thread in this forum on the 2" S&W 442.  It'll shoot +P 38's and conceals very well.  If you want a larger caliber, then maybe the 45acp 2" snub from the performance center?  Looks cool enough without the magnum snap.

Stedda,
I have one and love it.

I have to disagree that barrel length is unimportant in a concealed firearm. It is entirely dependant on the type of carry. The right tool for the right job,not every one's needs and solution are the same.

The 327 drops right into the pocket of a pair of shorts, weighs hardly anything and provides 8 rounds of 357 Magnum. Pocket carry would not be possible with a 3" or 4" 8 shot firearm.

Now if you tucked something into your waistband, you could get away with a longer barrel.

I have to admit that I have a love of the 8 shot S&Ws and own more than a couple.

Now I do also carry S&W Centennials (340,442,640,642, etc) when the need arises. These are superb firearms and do fulfill many folks requirements for a firearm.
