Edward, this is great!  I was just asking someone a few weeks ago if Sig makes (or is planning to make) a .22 conversion.

Regarding the 229 kits, will they be available for the .357/.40 platform as well as the 9mm platform?  I haven't seen them on the SigArms site yet.

Thanks!

I believe these are the same kit regardless of which caliber 226 you have.

Correct.  There's a 229 kit and a 226 kit, doesn't matter the caliber.

The question yet to be answered is whether the 229 kit will work on a 228 or not.

Um... unless something changed these kits are not going to be available until the summer, with the 226 first and the other ones to follow in the fall and then winter.

I got this from a Sig Factory Rep, not merely internet conjecture.

I'm on board when the 229 kits are available.  How much will spare mags be?

Is there a release date for the 229 conversions?  The only one available by the link is the 226.  Also, I need a price for spare mags.  I am writing up a proposal for a few conversion kits for my department and we carry the 229.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Am I correct in assuming that I could have this .22lr conversion barrel threaded 1/2x28 much like I've had my Advantage Arms G19 barrel threaded (and a barrel extension added) for use with a suppressor?

ETA:  I think the P226 platform would be a much better host than the mosquito for a .22lr suppressor.

The P220 conversion kit was suppose to be ready in April 2008.  It is now the beginning of May.  No word yet on when the P220 kit should be ready or is it just vaporware?

Initially, I wanted one of these kits to go with my 229. The price threw me a  bit, I think I might end up getting a 22/45

Looks like the bore is concentric with the OD of the barrel, so a threaded adapter a la some of the other .22LR autos might be a possibility!

Why do you think the P226 platform would be a better host than the Mosquito?

They are now available on the Sig website. I ordered a kit for the P226 through AR15.com. AR15 is saying their delivery will be in June.

Hi all,
Will this fit the P226 SAS or work on the SAS?

Thanks!!!

Ok.
I talked to dave at Sig today. He told me that yes the Kit will work on the SAS and also they have not shipped any yet and his best guess will be mid July. He was just making a guess and I hope they come out sooner.

Top Gun Supply has the 226 10rd mags for 29.95. The 229 kit uses a 10rd mag as well and I am thinking it might be the same mag, not 100% sure. I have no idea on availability of the 229 kit or ETA.

Based on the theory that a 229 IS a 228, just with a milled slide instead of stamped, I'm gonna say I'm pretty positive the 229 kits will work on a 228.

This is true, Ken Lunde while at shotshow was told by sig reps that the 229 upper will also work on the p228
