Heads-up to any SA XD owners.

Just recieved an email from John Farnam relating the story of a 5-day trainging class last week. A student brought two XD's in .40, the class went through appr. 2,500 rounds. It seems that the end cap on the recoil spring assembly broke. And after inspecting the assembly on the second gun, it's end cap was found to be loose.

So, word to the wise - if you own one of those guns make sure the cap is tight. Check it on a regular basis. If it breaks, it's a paperweight.

Springfield has been notified and is looking into the problem.

Lesson : Use your equipment and use it hard....before your life will depend on it.

I wonder if the XD-9 has the same issue or problem? This is the first place I have heard of such.
