Has anyone handled or shot a .45 wide body 1911 from Rock Island? I've seen them in the SGN for like $400 and they can accept Para-Ord. 14 rd mags. Seems like it may be a good deal.

I have a Springfield widebody. I like it a lot. Sweet stock trigger. Not sure about the Rock Island brand

Bhart,
3 of the guys @ our club bought 1 each at a dealer show and have been using them to shoot USPSA matches with them. They are a good starter gunand with a few modifications, they are spitting out bullets. They had to do a throat job on them for reliable feeding with all ammo and they are using Para hi-caps in them. They had to tinker with the feed lips on the mags but finally got them humming. If you have a limitedf budget and know how to work on a 1911 they are a great value...NIB $312..

I have been looking at the Rock Island single stacks with great interest for a while now. I was wondering what they were going to do about magazines with the double stack. There have not been many posts on 1911forums.com yet about that version, and I haven't come across one yet in person.
