Anyone use this stuff? I was thinking about buying some for my carry gun.

What do you guys think of it?

Thanks!

Trying to stay out of trouble WTH are you doing?

I carry 230gr GS's in 45 in my HK Tactical. The penetration and expansion numbers look good. They meet FBI specs without problems. I carry Winchester +P 230gr Rangers in my other 45's. I shot a box of the Golden Sabers just to check function and they worked fine. Kick a little harder than ball with good accuracy. The Rangers are the bees knees as far as the FBI tests are concerned. Plus, the 230 Ranger +p's were designed for the Mark 23, so that's what I have in mine......

I personally like the 185 Grain +P Golden Sabers, they are very accurate and the numbers are impressive for a 45 auto. If concealed carry was legal here in Nebraska that's what I would use. Thanks Arvin

i could be wrong, but i seem to recall these chronoing a little slower than most others. like 830fps?

supposedly expand real reliably, even when going slow.

I use the 230 grain in my 45's. I had a problem with the original hydrashocks - one of my 45's didn't like the nose shape of the hydras but they like those Remingtons just fine.

For practice ammo I reload using the same bullet. They reload just fine. I load them to the same overall length as the factory rounds.

I don't know anything as far as velocity is concerned, but the 230 grain GS sure did a number on a several hundred pound animal I encountered a few years back. One well placed round and it dropped it where it stood. The real life demonstration sold me. While gutting and cleaning it, I got to see first hand the wound channel and devestation to the tissue. I run Golden Sabers in my .45's as my Offensive/Defensive round.
