Might be a stupid question but I don't know too mich about RIA 1911s. I saw a RIA in the EE and I'm wondering how they compare to the Springfield 1911s? The Mil-Spec in particular.

Have looked at them myself, the price seems appealing atleast.

RIA 1911's are not the quality of others. If you know how to do some basic gunsmithing you can bring these guns up to par.

I think for a regular shooting gun it is ok. The quality is enough that it shoots just as well as some of the low end 1911s and it's a .45.

But if your going to modify it later, I think a SA mil-spec is the best thing to get.

Tastes great, less filling:

Officers with a couple of mods, thin grips, ambi safety, trigger. More to come.
