Got it for $238 on gunbroker...haha. She shoots fairly good, but was ugly as can be with new parkerization, 10 round mag, and Pachmayr grips.

Before:

Factory Browning grips BEFORE:

And after 2000 grit sandpaper, steel wool, files, 800 grit sandpaper, new Mecgar mag, hammer, and two flavors of RIT dye...here it is:

I got some adjustable sights that I'm going to put on it when I get around to it...should look pretty cool. I'm going for used and abused 60's match gun look...

So what do you think?

Looks good to me. Let's see it again when you get the sights changed out.

Yep...Brown for the grips, and black to imitate years of nastiness accumulating in the scratches and dings....

I liked the wood grips before you made them look like crap.

Added adjustable target sights...Had to cut the slide with a Dremel and hand fit with files...

Will post pictures as soon as I find my camera. Should look something like...

Just cut and pasted using Paint. Crude, but I got the general idea...and was able to do it.

Nice work. I like guns with a bit of character. It would look better next to a well-worn FAL.

So here's my "planning phase in motion...."

And here's after...Took a lot of hard work and patience to get the sights to fit in the hand cuts in the slide...Never done this before, but I think it turned out pretty good.

I like it, it has character. Anyone can drop a mint on a safe queen, but you won't be afraid to shoot yours. Looking forward to the range report.
