My buddy just bought a XD45 service model,used. it wont fire the first round. pull the trigger and "click". then cycle the gun by hand and it works fine. if the first round is inserted back into the mag it fires, so its not the ammo. any body else have this problem? any ideas as to cause and/or fix? or should he send it back to SA?

you didn't mention it so i'm going to ask it:
did he insert the mag then rack the slide then pull the trigger?
how many times has he had this happen?
no worries, SA will take care of this.

What ammo are you using?

GECO (Dynamit Nobel) has caused issues in striker fired pistols.

If your dealing with reloads then the primers are probably not fully seated. The first hit from the striker will seat the primer in far enough that the second hit will detonate them...

You may want to install an extra power striker spring...

how many times has he had this happen? it happens every time he takes it out, for about the past year, so at least a dozen times

this is unbelievable!
i loaded up some 9mm w/wolf primers. six out of 50 failed to fire in a g19.
five out of six fired in my xdm 9mm!
call SA in the am.

what is GECO?

I took it to the range this weekend, I loaded 1-2 rounds at a time for 50 rounds, tried to make it miss fire, it just wouldn't
