While window shopping this morning I came across a "used" two-tone 229 with box/owners manual, two 13 round mags and night sights.  The pistol looks like it had 50 rounds through it and the second magazine was still in the factory plastic.

The price was $599.00......to high or just right?

ETA some of the Sigs I looked at had internal and some had external extractors, does it matter?

I bought my used P229 (.40 S&W) for $500 and had to spend $65 for night sights afterwards.  My gun only came with one 10 round magazine.  This was before the "crime bill" ended.  I've since spent $20 per used, 12 round factory magazine.  My gun is not 2 tone.  Right at $600 for a 2 tone gun in that condition sounds pretty good to me.  As far as the external/internal extractor issue, my P220's (.45 ACP) extractor is internal and my P229's is external.  I'm not sure why SIG decided to build them differently.  I've had zero problems with either pistol.  Let us know if you buy the P229.

I dont think that is necisarily a great price I just bought a bi tone 229 with night sights, all manuals/boxes and it looks to have been fired less then 100rounds. it was a detective trade in, it was never carried by the guy. $400

$400!!!  Thats a really good price.  Thats the price for a used Glock around here which is why I am torn about spending $200 more.

My P229 came from CDNN, police trade, very very minor handling wear on the finish, and I spent $389 on it.  Has night sights.  Cost about $430 to get it to my door, between shipping and transfer fees.  I've since purchased a factory .40SW barrel, which I shot for the first time today, and its a dream.  So for the same that you want to spend at the gunshop, you can do over the internet and have a gun that shoots two calibers (.357sig and .40SW).  Just a thought.

I got my two tone .40 S&W 229, NIB, 3 mags (10 rounders), with night sights for $650... someone ordered it at my local range and then backed out...

The way Sig keeps raising their prices lately, you might want to reconsider waiting.
