Seems like all the 1911 talk has moved over to the 1911 forum, and it's mostly XD stuff around here. It got me thinking that I've never seen anyone post about a P-9 here. I remember when it was the hot setup for IPSC, even if it was only for a short time. Anyone still have a P-9 running around, stock or otherwise? Pics?

Well, I just picked up a P-9 yesterday. It's very nice, so here are some pics:

Sir-- What a great looking Springfield. How about a range report. ht

Range report? I had 100 rounds of 40 S&W. I went through them very fast. I was out to shoot some .45s, and didn't bring much .40. I didn't take the time to sight in the gun, as we were shooting with some strangers, and they were much more concerned with blowing up objects with Tannerite.

My first impressions were very good. The gun tracked very consistently. Though it has more recoil than a comped .38 Super, it's still very minimal. I'm used to 1911 triggers, and though it's light at 1.5 lbs., it has a longer reset. Bottom line was that at 7 yards I could empty 13 rounds into a pumpkin in what I'm guessing was under 5 seconds. It's a very fast gun. I'll be taking it out next time with my timer to see what I can do with it.
