Thoughts?

If you were in the market for a new pistol which would you get and why?

Benefit of one over the other?

M-9/92fs,

Being that I am on my fourth pistol (shot them from 60/80K, then sell them off to friends that have taken them over the 100K mark without failures), I like the platform very well.

I've owned one plastic pistol, and will never own another one. That's just my opinion though, MANY people will disagree...

92FS.

or a 1911...

I would pick the PX4.....already have plenty of 92's.

More capacity, the rail, and the barrel doesn't move like the 92.

The only thing I don't like is that the safety isn't easy to work....the shape is weird. I was looking to buy the decock model.

Mecgar makes 17 rounders for the 92fs, so the capacity is even. You can find the mecgar 17 rounders for $20, I would imagine the PX4 mags would be more expensive since it is a new gun. The 92 Vertec has a rail.

I am looking at the PX4 myself right now because the 92fs is a very big gun and hard to conceal. The PX4 is smaller and lighter making it easier to conceal plus it has the same high capacity. I have a 92fs and love it, but the PX4 looks pretty promising

+1

I would probably add accuracy to that list, IMO.

I say PX4. I played with one today for the first time at work, and I was blown away. Its an amazing pistol as far as I can tell. Very comfortable, good trigger in DA and SA, and it holds 17 rounds of 9mm. Size wise its like a 4" XD. Not as big as a G17, but bigger than a G19. We had it for sale for $479. Its a steal, and I think GLock will feel the pressure. Seriously.

I would say if you can not get factory mags for $20 or under like you can for Glock or SA XD then I would pass.
