I found this on the Sig website. It's a P238 that is chambered in 9 m.m..
I have owned the P238 and the Diamondback Db9.
I loved the quality and accuracy of the P238 and the firepower of the DB9.
It looks like it could be a WINNER!

I'll be interested to see the side-by-side with a 238.  On the one hand, I love the idea of a baby 9mm 1911 with no grip safety.  On the other hand, I would probably carry the 238 much more since it fits in a front pocket.

ETA:  the MSRP on the rosewood is cheaper.  Linky

$823.00 for it?  I really want to like Sigs but their prices are insane. (and I carry one for work)

Up top is the 938 Extreme, Below is the 238 Scorpion... yes, the only real change is barrel length.

Thanks for the pic.

Semi-off-topic: Why does no one ever make a baby 9mm 1911 with a flush fitting 7 round magazine?  I'd dig it more if it was a little bit longer in both directions and held 7 rounds in the magazine.  Looks like a nice size nonetheless.

I think you pretty much described the Springfield Armory EMP.

Sig P938 Scorpion would be nice. Wonder if that will happen?

So, when will the 938s start shipping?

Was considering the P238 but sure didn't want to add a 380 to my arsenal.   The MSRP on these seems to be in the $800 range.  Anyone have an estimate as to what the actual street value will be ?

Just going by Sigs MSRP, and what I'm seeing at the shops for the 238, I'm guessing about $50-75 more than a 238.  Might be closer to MSRP at first, due to limited availability, but should settle down later.

Technically EMP has a 9 round mag

I think the FDE will be a winner on the P938

I think so too.  I've been wanting a compact 9mm 1911 for abot 20 years or so.  Kimber has the TAC pro in a 9mm lightweight , but it's the same size as a Commander.  The 938 is truly a compact gun with the same feel and controls of a 1911.

I think they look better with the flush mags than with those gay extended mags..  Smaller too.

Man I'm really diggin that FDE!
I've been interested in the P238 for a while but didn't want a 380 (mostly because I have 9s)

I went by my local gun shop and they said they have no wait list system yet (they're fairly new)  and I told the guy to talk to owner about creating one and that I'd be the first on the list for the P938.

Define insane. People pay 700 for Taurus guns if you want to talk about insane.

Start comparing it to quality 1911's and it doesnt look so bad

I'd wait awhile if I was you gents!

I did. And I scored a P238 with the laser for 500 just the other day. Well below msrp.

I do not think I have ever paid Sig's MSRP as listed on their web page. Gun shows have them cheaper and so do the better local gun shops. If a shop sells a Sig at MSRP then I do not buy from that shop. BUT I buy regular base models with NS. I could see how the hard to find or low production guns would sell for higher prices.

I just put one on layaway at my local gun shop. Price was $695. I now carry a Ruger LCP with CT laser sights,in a Recluse holster. The 938 is almost the same size and easily fits in my front jeans pocket w/o printing.
Looks like I'll have a pistol for sale soon.

I picked up a P938 from TGS this week and took it to the range today. I put a little over  250 rounds through it today. Started off with 50 rounds of Remington 115gr JHP and had a two failures to feed on the first round from the magazine. After the first two magazine there were no other problems. I then went through a box of Winchester white box bulk pack, 50 rounds of American Eagle 115gr, 25 rounds of 124 gr Remington Golden Saber, and finished up with 12 rounds of 124gr Remington Golden Saber +P. it really surprised me how well it handled the +P rounds. Shooting seven yards it was easy to keep two inch groups, but I consistently was shooting one left of  center. For such a little gun it was pleasant to shoot and my hand was not sore after all the rounds I put through it.

I just got my P938 the other day and it only came with one 6rd magazine. How many mags did yours come with?

I haven't shot mine yet but picked up a box of Hornady 135gr Critical Duty to try out. Already have a bunch of different hardball loads I can run through it for break-in but something tells me this pistol will not be ammo sensitive.

Bought this pistol to carry in my pocket like my former LCP.  Looking for a suitable holster for pocket carry. Kinda like the new leather holster from Galco for $24.95 but will consider something made of ballistic nylon, also.

Whats the concesus on the thumb safety size and action?  I ask because the P938 diminutive-sized thumb safety and its stiffness is not ideal––for me as a CCW.  My P238 thumb safety did loosen-up a little, but its still stiff after a few hundred rounds.  The 938 Extreme thumb safety (new) feels at least as stiff as my 238's did when new.  I'd prefer a thumb safety that needed less force to disengage in a defensive event. The Sig custom shop excludes the 238 from Sig's optional work, so I expect the 938 would be excluded too.

btw- I know there's an ambi safety on the 938, and yes I already went to the gym today

What's everyone using for a holster? My first preference is a Recluse but they don't have a holster built yet for a 938. Need something until they do.

I'm making holsters for the 938.  I'll be in the shop for another week or so and then I'm taking an extended road trip.

My 938 is awesome!  I own a PM9 and a Solo and this is by far my favorite.  Sig did a great job with this little beauty!

This is a pic of the first holster I made for this pistol.  I'd make a few changes to any made today.  A compact holster for a compact gun.

Or the Para PDA in 9mm....

8 in the mag +1 in the chamber.

I got to fondle & dry fire one of these at the NRA show in April. I was impressed with it. Small, yet comfortable in my oversized monkey paws....
