Many years ago I tried a Glock 19. Hated it. Weird grip and couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

Now many years later, I'm very proficient (and accurate) with a number of different handguns, my favorites being SIG's and 1911's. I recently sold my Sig 226 and then realized I have close to 1,000 rounds of 9mm. So, I say to myself..."I'd better buy another 9mm pistol".

Lately, I've been considering trying a Glock again. I'm not really concerned about concealability...my 229 does that just fine. So, I'm considering both the 19 and the 17. Aside from size and capacity, are there any advantages or disadvantages one has over the other?

Or, do I just get the CZ75 compact that fits my hand like a glove?

The big difference is the grip. The backstrap on the 19 is less fuxored.

CZ75 Compacts are nice. Since you seem to be buying CDNN I reccomend the CZ as it is new and the Glocks are police trade ins.........Abused the shit out of...................in case your slow.

The G19 does everything the 17 does in a smaller package, that uses the larger mags if you so desire as well. Now in my experience, the G19 has been more accurate than any G17 I've shot?

CZ75C will conceal way better than G19 due to slimmer slide. And since you seem to be good in SA pistols, I think the CZ will fit you nicely.

Like they say, once you go Glock, you can't never return.

Actually if you liked a CZ, just go BHP, you'll feel much happier with it.

Out of the few I've handled and shot, the 19 seems to have a more "normal" grip angle. The 17 is all out of whack for me compared to most other guns.

Scooter, the first time you shot a Glock was it a earlier model or did it have the finger grooves?
Lot's of people hate the finger grooves.
CZ-P01 is a nice gun too. I love mine but I also love my Glocks.

get the tactical glock 9mm a "Glock 34". A very nice weapon! it has all the bells and whistles

Adair: 9mm 1911...yes cool, but let's stick with the Glock talk.

The first Glock I shot was a 1st generation (Iguess). That was back around the late 1980's. I haven't tried one with the finger grooves.

I've looked at the P-01, but they seem kind of chunky and I don't understand why they went with an alloy frame. The CZ75 compact PCR model I think seems to be a slimmer package, is all steel and has a hammer drop. Fit's my hand really well and I can snag one for about $75 less than a Glock 19. Of course holsters, etc are going to be a pain.

I love my Glocks and have a 19 and a 34. Depending on hand size, the 19 may be the ticket for you, but if you didn't like them before make sure and try to shoot one again before you lay down the green.

If you have fairly large hands, then I would suggest the 17 or even the 34.

If you have large hands, you probably will hate the finger grooves on the 19. They're even worse if you shoot with gloves.
