Just bought a Smith and Wesson Model 15 38 special for $100.
Looks like brand new with the exception of an engraved HG# on the metal frame, and it came with a Hogue grip and a wooden grip with fingergrooves.
Was supposed to have been an issue gun for a local department office staff person, and looks to have not been used or fired much if at all.

I bought it for my wife to have while I am overseas, and a small gun safe to go on the bedside dresser.

Before you go overseas, remove the grips & oil the steel under them. I bet the original owner never removed the grips once.................

Did that right away. Took the original grips off and put on Hogue monogrips.

Excellent!!  Older S&W revolvers like the Model 15 are IMNSHO the best revolvers ever made.  The Combat Masterpiece is one of the coolest old Smiths, smooth action, glassy smooth bluing, accurate. Ya done good.

BTW, I'm carrying a 2.5" S&W Model 19, just like your Model 15 except that it's a .357 magnum.

Trigger is so smooth in single action that you almost don't feel like you pulled it.

The S&W Combat Masterpiece just may be the greatest .38 special ever made.

Excellent find!

SCORE!  now to get the wife out for serious trigger time before you deploy (assuming she's not already comfortable with revolvers)  What do you plan to load in it?

Already took the wife to local Sheriffs office self defense handgun course.
She liked it a lot. I bought this for her, as she liked the revolver better than semi-auto.
She shot better than anyone else at the course, with the exception of myself and local range instructor. She is the one who suggested that I buy her one, and get an M-9 Beretta for myself to practice with before I deploy.
God help me, I love her. Just had a surprise party for 20th anniversary this year. I think I made a good choice, and my 3 kids think so too.
