Hey guys,

Just dropping by to say "Hi" and that I got my wife a new Ruger SR9 last night. It has the upgraded trigger and magazine catch, etc on it... I believe it was built in September. I have been reading about the SR9's made before July were giving almost nothing but problems but most of them after that, have cleared up. Still a few jam problems but seem to go away with ammo brand change and after about 100 rounds fired in the weapon... Those of you that have an SR9, how well does the Winchester white box feed through?

This gun is actually for my wife... It isn't going to be a carry weapon, but more of a fun toy for her. Just a plinker... I know some may feel it is good enough for their primary carry weapon, but reading some of the reviews, I won't feel comfortable with that unless I can put 1000 rounds through it without one problem. My S&W M&P has over 10,000 rounds through it with not ONE problem yet....

Also, is it just me or has anyone else gotten their hands pinched between the slide and the safety lever...

Only ammo I have ever shot through my SR9 is WWB and Hornaday T.A.P. I have yet to have an issue. My SR9 functions 100%. It's a lot of fun to shoot. I also have the upgraded trigger.

Cool... I'll try them, but they are a little on the $$$ side aren't they?

Oh yeah, the reason we bought this one is cause we got it CHEAP!

Cabelas original price was $499
On sale for $429
$100 off for signing up with a Cabelas card
$30 off on orders of $150 or more...

So $429 - $130 = $299 plus tax... Not too shabby if you ask me! I hate Cabelas service though...

I pay $20 a box (100 rounds) for WWB. The T.A.P. ammo was expensive but thats the carry load

I've got around 300 rounds of the winchester rounds in the white box through mine. So far, I've had 2 rounds that haven't gone off, the primer was dented but they never went off.

Did you try to shoot them in a different gun?

100 through my brother's Glock and no problems.

What about the ones that didn't fire in the SR9? Did you try and fire them in the glock? Could have just been bad ammo. I've never had any problems with WWB though

No, I didn't try to fire them again, I just tossed the bad rounds

I have had my Ruger SR-9 for about 1 month and 500 rounds, all of it Winchester White Box. I have had no problems with the ammunition or the gun. In fact, it is now my favorite handgun, and I have owned several through the years. The SR-9 is a keeper.

I love the way it feels. I have not shot mine yet, though. I'm dying to try it out.
