I have a 4" 629 that I'm going to use as a woods/javalina hunting gun.  I've already changed the grip out for one that fits my hand better, and have fired/dry-fired the action enough to smooth it up very nicely.  However, I'm not terribly fond of the sights.  They're ok, but nothing that really impresses me.  What viable and durable options are out there?  HiViz, Trijicon, XS?  Something else entirely?

Thanks in advance, and Merry Christmas!

All of those should be available as long as your front sight is interchangable.  In my opinion, you can only shoot precisely with plain black sights, but colors and dots seem to help new shooters until they develop their skills, and only then will they benefit from plain black target sights.  If you're not going to shoot beyond 25 yards, it won't matter, you'll be able to stab a hog where you want to with any of those sights.  If that's the case, I'd consider fiber optic, it will be easier to see against the hogs.

Thanks for the feedback.  Easier to see against muted/dark targets is definitely what I'm after, along with being easier to pick up quickly.  Almost all of my experience of the last 10 years & approx. 20,000 rounds has been with 3-dot tritium sights on my Glocks, so that probably has something to do with why I don't care for the standard sights the 629 came with.  Obviously, one option is to replace the front sight with a tritium dot.  However, this is different platform, so I'm wanting to explore different sights for it before I just jump to what I'm familiar with...
