[Last Edit: 11/19/2012 7:11:44 PM EST by wiggy762]
I have two early (pre-external extractor, but still Yonkers NY) Kimbers. The grips on my Pro-Elite feel quite a bit more narrow than the (maybe rubber) stock grips on my Custom II. Even with the larger size, the grips on the Custom II still feel a little loose in my hands. For reference, I am 6'5", 240lbs. I can CCW both w/o any problem, so the wider grip is not an issue.

I am interested in a more aggressive grip (VZ style) and wanted to get a larger (circumference ?) grip. Neither 1911 has an expanded magwell, and both have a flat msh.

Any ideas/suggestions? I prostrate myself to the knowledge here.....be gentle.

Thanks in advance for the help.

ETA Fix terrible grammar in title....sheesh

I find the normal thickness VZ grips to be very full.

+1, but a little less full than the stock wood grips that came on SA RO.

you can contact Larry Davidson and he should be able set you up with thicker grips if you desire.
His site has been under construction forever, but don't let that stop you.

The size I am trying to get to is the stock grips on a P220. If you have handled a 220, how do they compare?

I'll second Larry Davidson's grips. He will make anything you want and is a great guy. I don't think you can go wrong with Larry.
