It took me the better part of 6 months to get this finished in my spare time but she is finally done.
Olympic Frame and Slide
Nowlin Bull Barrel
Nowlin Trigger group
and the rest if finished out with Wilson and Ed Brown parts

I have the trigger down to 3 lbs.  Its shooting 2" groups at 40 yards strapped down.  I'm still working out a few minor bugs but so far I am very happy and I have a little over a $1000 in it and about 400 rounds down the pipe.  I had polished the flats but didn't like the look so I bead blasted it.  I am thinking of having the slide coated in black to give it some contrast or maybe just going all out with black chrome.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.  At first I was not big on the idea of the Olympic frame and slide but I do really like the hooked trigger guard and finger groove.  Not to mention I got the frame for $109 and the slide for $159.  Here are some pics.  Comments welcome........I am always looking for ideas to pretty her up.

To me, this exemplifies one of the best things about the 1911 pistol.  That is, the ability to make it just right for you.  For me, this pistol doesn't do it.  I don't like the finger grooves, the semi-arched MSH, the extended slide release nor the FLGR.  That doesn't matter though because its not my gun.  Its yours and if that's your idea of the perfect 1911, then that is exactly what it is.  Good job.  I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoy my concept guns.

I do agree about the arched mainsping housing.  I would prefer a flat one but I hate to replace it just because.
