I had bought a Baby Eagle quite a few years back and was quite impressed with this firearm.
The fit and finish was great.
I loved how it fit in my hand and had a natural point of aim.
I really like the long frame and extra weight of the front end, double taps were great.
Very rugged.
Ate any ammo I stuck in a magazine.
Very accurate.
I shot the hell out of this gun and kind of torture tested it.  I could not begin to count the number
of rounds I put through the thing.
Alas, I grew tired of trying to shoot it to death and traded it toward the new fad and got a XD pistol.
After about a year I decided to pick up another one because I missed having it around and it turned   out to be one of my favorite guns to shoot.

I have to say that this new pistol does not excite me as much as my old one.
The fit and finish is acceptable.  The finish and machining on the slide has a few marks where the slide
and frame fit together, I can see bare metal at some points.
The barrel is rifled.  Okay, I can live with this but the polaganol(sp) barrel seemed to last forever on  my old  pistol.  I wonder why they changed?
I have only test fired it and not put more than 10-20 rounds through it and can tell the accuracy is not
where my old pistol was.

When did they change the polygonal rifling?  I bought mine in new in Nov 04, and it has the polygonal rifling.  I can see a few machining marks on the bottom of the frame inside the trigger guard on mine.  Overall mine is great, perhaps yours was made on a Friday?

As far as accuracy, maybe you just got used to the XD?  Not saying the pistol isnt at fault, but these are things to consider.

Then again mine seems to have feeding issues when it gets a bit dirty.  I'm hoping a SIG will cure my reliability probelms
