This is the first gun I've stippled. I practiced on a couple of grips this weekend, but that's it. Any constructive criticism would be appreciated. If you're going to tell me it looks like a bag of ass, please explain the reason. Thanks!

Looks like a job well done.

Question though. Are you going to chafe your middle finger with your stippling right below the mag release while shooting?

I have to shoot it yet, but as of now it feels fine.

I'll just have to sand it down if it becomes bothersome.

What was your chosen tool for the job?

Looks better than a lot of "professional" jobs IMO.

I like it. Now to finish the rest of the frame . . .

ejeviking, I do not stipple the underside of the trigger guard for the reason you mentioned.

Looks good.  I'll just add to the others that say to leave the underside of the trigger guard alone.

I used a Dremel and sandpaper to sand down the the original texture and then a soldering iron to make my texture.

I really think I will like the underside stippled.

I still haven't decided if I want to stipple more of the frame or not.  If I do I think I will do a light dot texture for the rest of the frame.

I did the same thing, just a different pattern.  Started with the backstrap, then went to the front strap.  After I tried that for a while, I built up the courage to do the rest of it.  What a difference it makes.

Started like this:

Now it looks like this:

I finned a stipple job on my M&P 40c yesterday.  First pistol stipple job for me.  I did stipple a few PMags a while back.  I used a wood burner with various tips and variable temperature.

Edited to remove a stupid question.

I did stipple under the trigger guard and found out today while shooting that it's too rough. All is well with the stippling besides under the guard.  I think it all came out well besides the back strap. I screwed a few spots. Oh well. I will probably buy a few more back straps and do different patterns.

Edited to correct spelling

It looks good, good enough to do the whole grip.  My 9c was the first pistol that I stippled and I love it.  I did end up stippling the area under the mag release and I also cut a groove in the trigger guard for my left index finger.

I did some work on a grip for a friend. A little reshaping and stippling. What do you guys think of this one?

Im liking that grip on the AR man.  I would personally make the pattern more uniform.  But I like it.

Thanks! It's funny, I feel like it should be LESS uniform.
