Just ordered 4 new MecGar 16rd mags for my CZ-75 from Brownell's - they arrived today and won't insert more than 1/2 way!

My CZ is an older one - I bought it new in 1988 (I believe) while stationed in Germany.

Any thoughts?  Do the newer generation CZ-75s use different mags?  Should I send them back?

Yes the 75B uses larger mags than the 75. The older mags are hard to find.

My 1981 CZ requires effort to get mecgars in and out, but they fit.  If you arent concerned with the "collectors" value of the gun, you can have the mag well opened a hair and reblued.

I'm not concerned about collector status, more sentimental value-but don't know of anyone around here that could do that kind of work.

Excellent choice.  Older, 15-round factory mags should work fine in a Pre-B. Its just the newer ones (the 16-rounders) that seem to be an issue.
