I always thought matching dual 9mm's was a pretty cool look.
What do you guys think of this?  Dumb or practical?

For those of you that like them, what two would you have?
I recently bought a CZ 85.  Is that something worth having a second one?

Only time I can see getting two is if I were shooting a match & wanted/needed a back-up gun or if it were a semi-rare piece such as a Sig P-210 or something. Otherwise I'd get something else but could be in the same caliber.

Or you could go with a different model varient of the same thing. For example I have a Beretta 92FS, 92G & a 92FS Inox. All are 92's but all are slightly different.

thank you.
So maybe I will get the CZ 75 next.  the only difference between the two is that the 85 is ambidexterous safety and slide catch.
That will give me a different variation of the same gun.

it would depend on what you want to do with them.

if youre Laura Croft, then anything you got would look good.

some people are into the "spare parts" scanerio and having a second gun would fit the bill.

i have a couple 2x CZs.  they maybe fun to shoot 2 at the same time, but wouldnt want to carry 2.

I want an INOX 92FS to compliment my blued version.  also a stainless 1911 to compliment the parked one.

I can't remember if it was Gabe Suarez or Jeff Cooper who said it but one of them recommended having an identical back up of your carry pistol.

If you shoot someone and you aren't arrested you'll need another one for the immediate time being.

I bought a blue Beretta 92 and my Dad got an Inox one. We switched the slides to make them two-tone and so they were part of a 'set'. Matched pistols are really cool.

2 is 1. That said, I have 2 of my carry gun but will likely never try to fire them simultaneously.

Exactly this. I carry a P7 and do have a duplicate, but I'd never shoot them at the same time.

I do like to have doubles of things that I really like though.

Matching mirrored pistols are pretty neat.

Awesome? Yes.

Expensive? Yes.

Practical? Probably not.

Not terribly practical to be using two at the same time.  Sorry, but no.

That being said, I try to limit the number of "platforms" I have, I like to train and build muscle memory on one system, and I see no practical purpose in owning six or seven or two dozen different kinds of handguns.  Right now my two chosen platforms are the Beretta 92FS/M9 series and 1911s in .45 ACP, so I've got multiples of both.

As someone else already mentioned, "two is one, one is none."

Dual wielding pistols is impractical, but it is also very fun. Some of you should try it (for fun) in a safe place.
