I am wondering if the Mark 23 is worth the extra money I would pay instead of a USP45?

Have you seen the USP45 Tactical? It sort of splits the difference between the USP45F and the MK 23. It is the same size as the USP45F, but has the Expert trigger pack, adjustable sights and the threaded, o-ringed barrel. You can find them for ~$900.

NO, the 23 is NOT worth ANY extra $$$$ unless you're Bill Gates & rolling in money.

Either the Expert or Tactical is a much better value. Actually, the standard USP is almost impossible to beat for accuracy, IMO.

I would get a tac I love mine. HK are real proud of the mark 23

The Tac with suppressor and license will run around $1800; a Mk 23 on sale is about that much just for the gun. I have both, but the Mk 23 is too large for a good grip with my medium size hands.
All my friends who have fired the Tac love it, even more than their regular USP's. I agree, and seldom take my other USP's out of the safe.

Did the FS have any "special" paperwork? Who made it? How much?

No paper work, there are no restrictions for a flash hider on pistols.

Its made by Larry at CCFA

He has thread protectors also at $18.95
