Just picked up a new MK9 yesterday. Any suggestions or comments about the gun? I already own an early model K9 and love it, so I don't expect any issues with the MK9, but ya never know...

Thanks guys... gonna shoot it tonight for the first time. Too much work to do last weekend to get to the range... dammit.

Love mine, you made a good selection.

The only issue I have is that once in a while the last shell of a mag will eject and hit me rigth between the eyes. Has anyone else had this happen?

I just bought a MK9 also. I will get to shoot it for the 1st time tomorrow! Hope it is reliable, I'll post back how I do with it. Enjoy your new gun!

Shot my MK9 last night and I gotta say, it's a keeper. Shoots point of aim out to 30' and then drops a bit. Out to 50' groups open to about 3-4", but inside 30, they're right at 1.5". Can't complain about that!
No issues with either mag or with handloaded hollowpoints. Gold Dots and Hydra-Shoks worked just fine.
Altogether, I'm real pleased.

Just shot my MK9 for the 1st time and I'm very pleased! no malfuntions in 300 rounds and very good accuracy like Fb41 mentioned. This is a fantastic gun and is definetly a keeper, might even buy another some day in the next year as a back up if I ever wear my 1st out.

I doubt if you'll wear it out. I've got over 3000 rounds through my K9 and it still shoots great!

I own a mini Glock 27 in 40 and this Mk9 is the better gun! It is more accurate much more reliable so far and is built so much stronger! I can't believe I never payed much attention to Kahr.

I have owned and carried my MK9 for a year and a half.  I love it.  I can conceal it in shorts and a tee shirt or in a cargo pocket.  I own a bladetech kydex holster for it.  You will never wear it out.  I have shot countless rounds through it and it shoots as good as the day i bought it.  You will enjoy it very much.

How does the MK9 feed hollow points? I bought a few different knids to try out tomorrow.

Mine has fed everything I put in it, from Hydra-Shoks to WWB, and the Remington 115 HP handloads I use.

Watch the recoil spring around 2500 rounds or so; I've been through a couple.  I also had some very minor peening where the top of the barrel engages the slide--I'd say basically cosmetic at this point (5 k rounds).  Caveat--there is a heavy duty one piece spring available; don't know if they now offer them on new production, but likely worthwhile if you're going to shoot it a lot.  Telltale sign for recoil spring going bonkers is erratic lockup, and you may feel a "hitch" at mid point of recoil.

I put 100 rounds of Winchester Hollow points through it, 100 rounds of Remington hollow points and 20 Speer Gold Dots. I had 1 jam on the 2 round of the 1st clip of HP's I shot which happened to be the Winchester HP's. For some reason the bullet kind of took a nose dive and was caught between the slides breech face and the bottom of the feed ramp. I cleared it and finished the mag. I was very upset at first because my carry gun has to be 100% reliable 100% of the time like my SIG has been. Buuuuuut the gun performed flawless the rest of the day with out 1 FTF or FTE and even limp wristing it!!!! I think it was a freek hickup. I felt better after finishing the other 200 rounds with no problems. I will probibly test if several hundred more rounds of HP's just to be sure before I carry it full time.

I put the same ammount and same kind of hollow points through my Springfield XD-9 Subcompact adn it ran 100% with no problems at all. It is already one of my CCW guns. It is a very good gun right up there with my SIGs!

love mine. and yes just about every last round will fly straight back and bounce off your head.

Interesting discovery,  I ordered a galco matrix holster for my 1911 5" and i didnt like it but found out that my mk9 will snap right into it like it was made for it. I love the matrix holster now and u can just throw on a shirt and barely tell its there.

That looks the same as my guide rod and I haven't had a failure of any kind yet after 500 rounds.

I went the other way , I traded my MK9 for a K9 Elite .
The MK9 was 100% but it was just too damn small
for my hand even with the finger extension mags .

I have, over the past three years, become a huge fan of Kahr Arms.  My PM9 has never failed in any way.  2500 rounds or so, of a mixed bag of factory ammo.  It is TINY, and I like the grippy bumps molded into the polymer grip.  If the MK9 is as good, you have a winner.

PM9, the gun I carry when I don't wanna carry a gun.

Teknic, I read several accounts on the net of a few guide rods coming apart so I replaced it and the spring just in case.  I got mine from Wolff @ www.gunsprings.com.  Two piece metal rod, replacement recoil spring and a new striker spring all came together.  About 35 bucks, drop-in installation.
