I have seen someone with a light mount that attaches to the triggerguard on a M9/92F/92FS that allows any standard rail light to be attached.  It was held on with a couple of small hex screws and did not involve any drilling...  I have searched high and low and can't come up with one.  Does anyone know where to get one?  Does anyone have any comments on them?  I'm looking for something to use with an issued M9 so I have have a light, yet be able to keep the armorer from freaking out be drilling holes in the frame... They are called the M9A1, there being used by the Marines, and are starting to get feilding by the USAF.

I'm not talking about the M9 w/ the built in rail, but a rail that can be attached and removed from the standard M9.

There was a guy that sold them on the EE here.  One was called the Tic, I think.  Check out the EE under handgun parts or optics lights and accessories.  I think there were two kinds.  I know the one you are talking about.  I should get one too.

I have one for my P226, and it works great.  Use a little blue loctite on the threads of the mounting bolts, and the mount isn't going anywhere.

I have one of the CAA light mounts on my Beretta 92FS and it works well. The only drawback is that it does not position the TLR-1 light back far enough to where I can comfortably reach the switch, but it is better than no light mount at all.

Surefire makes a mount, only thing i would use.

They offer a military/LE discount straight from surefire, although I would use Calvin from brightflashlights (discounts are usually a little better, his customer service is great, and you get your stuff lightning fast). He's a vendor in the EE.

I have the Tic rail on my M9. Its entirely servicable/adequate. However, it postitions many lights in an "uncomfortable" fashion. While not as comfortable as other light mounts, its still solid and effective. There is a teflon screw that you tighten against the trigger guard to prevent the mount from drooping. Take care not to bugger this up...

I paid 35.00 for mine, and its entirely servicable/adequate. I just wanted the means to attach a light to my M9, should I ever need/want too. I like the M9 enough to buy the M9A1, however the A1 lacks the "Martin Riggs" factor, which I really appreciate.

My M9 is no longer my primary defensive handgun, however I would probably choose another mount for LEO/military service. I would secure a mount or mount/light combo from Surefire and an appropriate holster. Bladetech could make you a holster for this application....Surefire makes the best weapon lights out there and they have tackled the M9 and Sig P226 mounts years ago. If you don't have a M9A1 or P226R, Surefire is the best choice for a light/mount.

The rail on my P226 locates the toggle on my M3 in a spot that can be comfortably and reliably manipulated (at least with my average size hands/fingers).

I agree. The CAA mount that I had installed on my P-226 seemed to sit a bit farther back in relation to where my finger reach was comfortable. I am not implying that the mount is not usable on the Beretta, just that it seems to sit farther forward than where a factory railed frame would be located.
