What Bob-tail did you order? I recently got my first bob-tailed 1911 and I no longer think it is gimmicky. From my limited use of it, it makes a significant difference in concealability.

Here is mine- With factory grips.

The skull faded or dirty? I've been considering punisher grips for the hell of it, don't know where I could get bobtail ones though. Probably have to cut them myself.

The skull is neither faded nor dirty, it is subdued.  The guy also makes these in a glossy enamel with the bright white skull.  I just prefer the rough finish which provides better grip.

Oh don't get me wrong, it looks good. I've just seen other punisher grips where the skull was a lot brighter.

Not great pics, but here are two from Kim Ahrends: Ahrends Grips USA
Good guy, great grips, and he's a real 1911 guy. At one point he was considered one of the top 10 custom 'smiths in the country.

Had Chris at AlumaGrips make these bad-boys up for my Springfield TRP Operator.  The original sandstone grips were a tragedy... while in the traditional hard-shell blue case that the TRP's come in, the sand wore off from the grips and essentially "sandblasted" the armory kote finish of my 1911.  I'll be sending it back to Springfield soon for refinishing, but as you can see I removed the original grips and replaced them with these custom AlumaGrips.  I went for the silver finish for contrast, and the most aggressive checking available.  I had him custom engrave the Springfield Armory crossed cannons logo in the circle and they did a great job of aligning them so they are level when the pistol is.

All in all, I'm 100% satisfied... I believe I paid $112 for them, but it was money well spent...

Yeah.  The Punisher was a marvel comics character/ vigilante.  If you haven't, you should watch the movie.  It's entertaining.  There is a remake coming out.

That movie was bad-ass... some cool 1911's IIRC... from what I gather, there was a sequel and Tom Jane hated the script, so we're left with the pathetic remake that hit theatres for about a week, then disappeared... I've seen a LOT of different Punisher 1911 grips out there... always thought they were kinda cool.

Custom "BioHazard" pattern on my custom stainless longslide .45 acp. Just seemed like the style to have for it, like a 'zombie shooter' from some sci-fi flick. Just a fun gun with fun grips.

These were a special run from that same Veteran on ebay mentioned in a previous post. Nice feeling grips.. Can't remember how much they cost.

No way..lol  I have a couple swords that are shorter..  Maybe if I wore a trench coat all the time.. It would be weird to be asked why I never remove my coat..

It is a long slide for sure.. Nice range gun for accuracy and a little increase in velocity. Looks gigantic next to my Kel-Tec which I do carry though.. No problem concealing that..
