I don't want to see the beautiful, mint condition, safe queens that are worthy of the the cover of American Handgunner. Everyone loves a beautiful gun, but we see those all the time. I want to see some guns with some miles on them.
 My GLOCK 19 will be 18 years old in March, which is about the same time it will hit 30,000 rounds. I am going to send it to GLOCK for a check up/parts upgrade and to be refinished. I wanted to take some before and after pics, so I figured I might as well post them for posterity. Let's see 'em.

My 1998 vintage P220. Unsure of total round count, since I bought it used. I, personaly, have put well over 12000 through it in the last two years. Still going strong with only a spring replacment to keep it fresh.

Finally a Glock19 that looks worse than mine  My Gen 2 is somewhere near 10 years old now and I got it used so I am unsure of round count but I average a 1,000 a year. What do they charge for a refinish? |

Why thank you. The slight discoloration near the cocking serrations is what happens when there is no black coating left on the slide and you bleed on the gun during a pistol class and don't clean it off for two days. It's around $45, I think. Don't be a tease, let's see some pics.

How do you keep your hogue from slipping around? I finally pulled mine off due it constantly sliding around.

Very nice. I don't have a problem with mine slipping. I did trim up the front and back at the bottom of the grip so it didn't hang off the bottom of the frame. |

I carried these for about 7 years. The S&W Mod 64 was my duty sidearm. It has thousands of .38 Special rounds through it. Some were +P's.

Well, mine is still a young one, but has been worked to death, so I'll show her off anyway. My Sig P226 is only two years old as of this month, and these pictures don't do the damage any justice. It was much worse before. I got a blueing pen because, unfortunetly, when I had my previous job, "exterior wear" was a reason to fail a gun for work duty, for some reason. So I filled in the wear to make sure it wouldn't be failed and given an early retirement. Otherwise... there would be almost no finish on the underside of this thing.
The photos are blury in some, I do apologize. My camera doesn't like close shots. SigFiend226 I carried a Sig P226 for 16 years, on duty, issued gun. My grip screws were always getting rusty.
I took them off and sanded them, then painted them with black modelers enamel. It worked great until the seat belt wore the black off (about every two years). I re-sanded them and painted them again. I wish I woulda taken photos of my Sig before I turned it in. It had a lot of wear from holsters, weather and shooting. They issued us Glock 22's now. _____________________ |

Hm. That sounds like a good idea, I might have to give that one a try. I still new screws though because they are in horrible shape and almost can't be unscrewed, which is bad. Did you have issues with your grip screws just dropping out? Because mine was a problem the two years it was a duty gun. |

i've been looking for a 1st gen 19 for a while, as this one was purchased with a 19 for use as a back up gun. my original was regretfully sold to fund some purchase or another. the 17 is one of a few guns that i will never sell, nomatter what the price.
