I have an older leather holster that is starting to dry out some, I am seeking information on what to use on the inner side of the holster "rough side" to help smooth it out and return some moisture back into the leather. I have some saddle soap for the smooth side and some leather lotion which states to be used on smooth leathers and not to be used on suede.

Anyway my pistol is starting to shred the inside of the holster with each insert/removal and wondering if you all could help me find a product to remedy this

Thanks
Dan

Use the saddle soap. The warning against using it on suede or rough out leather is mostly for appearances. It will unevenly darken the leather a bit, and probably smoothen out the nap (the roughness that makes it suede, or rough out leather). It's not going to harm anything. Even the various oils and waxes that say not to use them on suede are for appearances.
