I had been shooting a lot of 45 ACP in my 1911's and I decided I wanted a revolver in the same caliber. I have three S&W 625's but they were all chambered in 45 LC. SO i wandered out to my favorite gun shops and found a nice 98% gun with a couple dozen moon clips thrown in for $399.

On another board I came across a Model 13 set up for PPC. I used to shoot PPC, but had sold my Les Baer-built PPC gun earlier this year since I hadn't shot competitively in close to a decade. When I saw this 95% gun listed for $275 I jumped on it. Turned out to be a Davis Custom Model 13 PPC. let it be said I got a good deal; the parts are worth more than $275.

You done good, real good. Can't wait to see what you think of the 625. I've always said that the 45acp was way to great a round to waste in a semi-automatic.

I have a S&W 25-5. If you don't mind me asking, how old are your 625s in .45LC? I thought they only made them a few years, making mostly .45acps?

I don;t think I've seen a model 25 in .45LC at a gunshow in many years.

Those are two sweet looking revolvers David. I have a Smith and Wesson Model 25-5 .45LC and it's without a doubt the most accurate revolver I ever had the pleasure of shooting. Those 2 liter soda bottles have no chance against me and my S&W @ 100 yards! Hehe.

The first group I shot from the 625 produced four shots in one ragged hole with two called flyers. It shoots as well as my best 1911.

My 625's in 45 LC range from 3 - 10 years old, but the gun is currently cataloged in that caliber and I've seen new ones recently (In fact, the shop had one when I bought this used 625).

So far my most accurate S&W at 100 yards has been my 8" 617, which shoots into 1.5" with cheap ammo at 100 yards. Haven't tried this one yet.

The 625 fits the catagory of "my most favorite gun I never had"...yet.
And those 10s and 13s set up for PPC are usually buttery smooth and unreal accuracy wise, yours is in real nice shape to boot!
Looks like you had your fun at the "candy store"! Nice X 2 !
