I have a TLEII with a mainspring housing w/extended mag-well. It hasan allan screw at the base of the extension (Like the Tactical Custom). I've removed the screw but I still can not remove the mag-well from the mainspring housing. Do I also have to remove the pin that holds the mainspring housing in the frame to remove the extension? Any info would be great.

Mine is an Ed Brown MSH and requires removal of the screw only.

Is it the kind that also has wings that extend up and wrap around the grip screw bushings?

No. No wings such as, the Wilson Combat version, which, has "Hooks" on the sides and the extension is secured by the grips screws. Mine looks identical to the Ed Brown, except this one is made by Kimber. It as a set screw (Allan) at the base of the beveled extension which attaches it to the mainspring housing. However, I have removed that screw and the extended portion will not budge.

You have to remove the MSH. The magwell is dovetailed to the MSH. It's not to hard to do, just be sure you get the fingers of the mainspring aligned correctly on the sear, disconnector, & grip safety when you re-assemble it. Be sure to perform a good safety check after you finish.

Wilson has two kinds, one with the visible hooks, and one with wings that go between the frame and msh. If you're SURE it's not the Wilson, and it's an Ed Brown (the one on the Kimber site that looks like an Ed Brown is an Ed Brown, and Kimber does not actually make it), remove the allen screw and give it a whack with a plastic headed hammer or mallet. It's probably just stuck from finish/dirt/sweat etc.

I figured it out. On the Mag-well/mainspring housing, in order to remove the extended mag-well you must first remove the allan screw, then using a punch remove the mainspring housing pin. Take a rubber-band and rap it around the grip and grip safety(This will prevent any parts coming out of alignment. Pull on the mainspring housing just enough to create a 1cm gap. The extension fits in the mainspring housing via Dove-Tail. Tap gently with a nylon capped hammer or rubber malet on the back of the extension (The rounded part) and it should pop out. Now knowing this and hindsight being 20/20, I would have bought the Wilson Combat model, part#366BF "Speed-Chute". With this type you remove the mainspring housing pin ONLY. Plus with the one I have (Kimber/Ed Brown) the recess where the Dove-Tail is leaves a gap that could potentialy get caught on clothing or allow dirt or other crap in where it should not be. Thanks to all that replied and I hope this info I've provided helps others.
