So I've been huntin around for a 45 and mentioned to a friend that I dont want to screw with building a race gun, I was looking for a off the shelf quality 45 w/all the bells and whistles that I wanted. I mentioned to him I was looking and had fondled a Kimber Warrior and had looked at 2 SA pistols as well.

So, one of my competitors here in town, is talking to this friend, mentions that he has a 5yr old NIB Kimber Classic Stainless Target w/1 mag and Bomar sights (factory?) and the friend tells him to call me, he does and offers it to me for $730.00

What do you guys think? Can I do a little better with a "newer" model gun? The only thing it does not have that I would like is a rail (dont flame me...some of the matches I want to shoot have a night course) but other than that?????????

Thats a series 1 with internal extractor and no firing pin safety. And I think that is a good price, depending on it's condition.

And as far as the rail, you can always add a Dawson rail. But, I know that all the night competitions here require you have a seperate flashlight, and can't use one on a rail.

That's a fair deal is it's truly NIB. You should expect $650 for a blue one that's new (if you can find them). I'd do the deal just because it's a series I.

Saw your edit about NIB. So let's see the pictures. Is it home yet?

Not home yet. Found a S/A operator w/surefire X200 for an even 1K. Claimed to only have 3-400 rounds down the pipe. I'm on the bubble right now.
