When new, was there a nylon guide rod recoil buffer installed on your gun?

I think I solved my "fail to feed" problem last night after many months of troubleshooting and many rounds downrange. I took it out and the gun shot perfectly.

It was an afterthought that it might not have even come with it from the factory, since I bought mine slightly used. That's why I asked here. I don't use those recoil buffers in any of my other .45's. I don't know why they even make them.
