So I got a what looks like brand new g20sf with trijicon night sights today for $575.  I thought it was a decent deal.  Took it apart and it looks like the gun has never been fired other than missing the factory grease on the guides.  Got a box of underwood 165 hp to go with it until I can get some brass to reload.  Looks like blue dot is the way to go for reloads?  Whats the best factory loads out there?

Good deal on your G20. I have a Gen2 and a sf.  It will depend on what your use will be, on what factory ammo is best.  For my use, I have Buffalo Bore 220 hard cast as my carry load for out in the woods.  For everyday carry I am use Buffalo Bore 180 JHP.  Since I shoot about 200-300 rounds a month, I do a fair amount of reloading.  I have both Lone Wolf and Strom Lake barrels and use a lot of cast bullets from Oregon Trails.  There are several good cast bullets out there so use what you find.  I also get a fair amount of biullets from Nosler's Pro Shooter shop.  For powder, Blue Dot is my main powder with HS6 right behind it.
Have fun and good shooting!

For factory ammo Double Tap leads the way. You can order direct from them.

Do you really notice the difference in the feel of the grip with the SF? I have a G20 pre SF and it's too large for my hand, feels wrong. I was considering getting one of the SF models to replace it.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.  They have overstated velocities.

all the tests I have seen have either been right in the ballpark of stated velocities or better.
would be interested in seeing the tests you have seen where their stated velocities fall short.

Yes, one feel the difference between a Gen 2 and a G20sf.  I have both and I like the sf a lot better.  That is not to say that I do not like the Gen 2.  If the sf is still a little large for your hands, one can still have the grip reduced.  We had the grip reduced for the G20sf that the wife shoots.  It is still a little large for her hands, but she shoots it well.

The underwood ammo I bought with it was pretty hot.  1400 fps for 165 gr is what the box says so I went on they're website and ordered some 180 grainers in fmj and a box of hp that are suppose to be 1300 fps.  That will give me some brass to load after playing around with those.  Thinking of going to a 22lb recoil spring too as I've had it suggested to me for shooting hot rounds.

Several more videos by this same guy will show you that Double Tap is usually below their stated velocity.  They claim 1410 for their 9mm and it actually comes in at 1308 fps.  They have actually gotten a little better in the last few years since people have called them on it with chronograph videos like this.  Some of their claims were much worse a few years back.

You want really good 10mm ammo....stick with that Underwood.  I have shot alot of Kevins stuff.  Tried several different weights in my Glock 20 and 29.  His velocities are right up there and quality is great.  Plus his prices are cheaper than Double Tap.  One reason he stays out of stock alot...
