Was playing around and noticed this one old mag(Italian 'PB' mag) wouldn't catch...looking at it,noticed it had no hole for the mag release.

Googling discovered it is for the first couple of versions of the 92.

I was wondering, were these guns even sold here?

Wow,that is pretty cool.
So what is to be done with this mag?
It obviously doesn't work in my 92.

My old man had a surplus 92S with the heal release. He modified several M9 mags to work in the pistol by dremeling out a notch for the mag catch near the bottom of the magazine. You could try doing the same in reverse.

Post a pic of the condition. If it's nice I'd trade you for a standard FS mag.

Not in good condition finish wise.
Most of the finish gone.

Trade it or sell it.

The new factory mags have the holes in both places for either mag release postion.

IMO it's not worth trying to cut a new hole, when they are available so easily.
