SOG has some for only $299. Has anyone tried them and what is the reaction?

I hope they were surplused just because NATO armies are getting smaller.

They are a lot cheaper than the commerical Beretta's being offered right now.

Are you sure they're Model 92s?

Now I don't know. I went to the website to double check and they don't have any Beretta pistols featured.

I saw the ad in SGN, but now I can't find it anymore.

I belive they were listed as 92F.

I do not know if they were Italian surplus, but without the "S" they did not have the improved locking-block. I can get a used FS for $350 to $400. Or get a new 92FS Vertec for $500.

I would rather pay the $100 - $200 more and get the improvements.

They are the 92S, with frame mounted safety (1911 style). The mag release button is located at the heel.

I would save my money and buy a later model 92 with the improved locking blocks and the FS anti-decapitation improvements on it.

If you like to collect Berettas, however, these aint bad...

I think I will give them a shot. Winemaster has a 92FS in stainless and it is suprisingly accurate.
