Legal, but why not buy something good?  Save your $$ and get a Kimber.

The Taurus PT100 is not on the CA DOJ approved list.

So, unless you are a CA LEO, you can not order it from a FFL dealer.

You have to look in the used handgun market in CA.
Non-approved handguns can be purchased by non-exempt persons, if done through a private party transaction between two CA residents.

My $0.02....
Don't bother with the Taurus PT100. It's a substandard copy of the Beretta Model 96.
And the Beretta Model 96 is on the CA DOJ approved list.

Just becuase a gun isn't on the list, doesn't mean it is illegal.  It's just that the company didn't submit sample firearms to the testing facility for testing/destruction.  This gun meets all of the requirements to be a legal handgun in CA.

But we agree, it's really not worth the money.

If it's not on the approved list, a dealer can't import it new. You might be able to find one for sale privately, or if you have a parent or child out-of-state who wants to gift one to you, that's an acceptable exemption to the Roster.

In the longer term (next year or so, calguns.net is developing a workaround for the roster.)
