Yes.

I know I can get something "Used" for this amount and I really dont want to hear the bullshit stories of people getting $900 guns for $400.

Is there anything out there....right now. That you can find "anywhere" NEW for $450?

Thanks

I think the CZ75 should be in that range.

Smith and Wesson M&P 9mm is $439 delivered from Budsgunshop.com.

Used HK compact or Sig

Depends on your definition of a quality peice.

I like glocks but dont consider them quality. They can be had all day long at that range. NIB Used for about 100 less,

Walthers are in that range NIB so are many others. SIGS are a little highter as well as HK (Bout 120 higher NIB)

I am rather partial to the Witness CZ types and they are easly picked up for that kind of $$. Thats a quality rig IMHO. Steyr handguns are also only 350 NIB. They are extremely high quality IMHO. Have you looked around?

What are you looking for exactly?

Why not consider Pre owned or Certified. Hell even police trades etc.

I looked at a Walther PPKs tonight, I liked everything about it except the slide mounted safety.

It made it difficult to pull back the slide with a less than perfect grip.

Kahr CW-9.

Your criteria:

-It will be a carry pistol ..............(That's what it's designed for, hence "CW")
-nothing bigger than a Glock 19 ....(I think it's a bit smaller)
-Reliability .............................(My PM-9 hasn't ever had a malfunction)
-380 or larger .........................(9mm)
-slim lined ..............................(single stack)
-external hammer preferred ........(nope)
-rust resistant A MUST ..............(all metal parts are stainless steel)

Link Posted: 10/5/2007 7:41:11 PM EST
I was actually refering to the P99's I like the qucik action and decocker. BTJM

XD's also fall into that range but I am not a fan of those. BTJM
They bite me in the web

there are alot of good "used" "pieces" out there for the price you stated.

if you know what to look for in a "used" gun you shouldnt have any problems. If you dont know, then its probably best to buy new. even then there are some good guns out there. Most of what people have recommended is good, however, you probably wont find any NIB CZ75s in SS for that. Used yes, but NIB no.

If you do your buisness with a LGS, i would see what they have. if its used, they will probably take it back if you have any issues, at least my LGS will.

Rugers GP100, SP101 is a good quality revolver and it comes in SS. I have the GP100 and one of my friends has the SP101.

whitness in wonder finsih. Pretty much a CZ with a slide on steriods.

You shoud be able to land the sub cal kit in that range as well then you can shoot both 22lr and whatever

The closest thing I can think of that fits all of those requirements is the Kahr CW9. A stainless S&W 908 would also fit the bill, but a brand new one would be ever-so-slightly over your price target.

You could get one of these in non stainless. I don`t have one but i sure like the way they look and feel. I`ve read many owners here telling how much they like them.

Sounds like your looking for a ...Glock 19

Simple, reliable (goes bang every time), durable, easy to clean, acceptable accuracy for CCW....Where does Glock lack quality
Link Posted: 10/6/2007 7:01:31 AM EST
unfortunately you'd have to do a little looking:

Glock
CZ
Beretta
Sig poly line (2009, 2022, etc)
SA XD

but if you wanted to skip the "looking", i'd say the best you could probably do is a Ruger (P-89, p95, etc)
Link Posted: 10/6/2007 7:18:48 AM EST
For a low cost pistol its hard to beat the EAA Witness line.
Link Posted: 10/6/2007 8:15:51 AM EST
PX4??? It's bigger though. Didn't you have a USPc before? Wouldn't that have filled your requirements besides the price????
Link Posted: 10/6/2007 8:23:06 AM EST
Glock 19
Link Posted: 10/6/2007 8:31:31 AM EST
I picked up a retired CHP S&W 4006 last month for 350.00. It is in great shape and functions flawlessly.
Link Posted: 10/6/2007 9:00:31 AM EST
Glock 19
Ruger P95
SA 1911

Would be on my list to look at.

My friend bought a rod and reel combo from Sportsman's Warehouse a few days ago and was given a $25 gift card. He sold the gift card to me for $15 so I went looking.

$479-$10 I saved on the gift card=$469....Close enough

Now that I think of it a Stoeger Cougar would probably do the trick...made on Beretta equipment in Turkey.....

For a MSRP of $370 I might have to get one...

For something inexpensive, I would look at the EAA Witness line or Ruger.

Just don't get any lint between the hammer and the decocker. Your pistol will cease to function.

XD
CZ-75B
Glock 17

or depending on what your needs are:
Ruger MKIII .22 and plentiful amounts of ammo.

I see Beretta 9000s around all the time for less than $450. I know there are a few members here who carry them. I don't have any personal experience with them though.

I personally would be looking at a sub compact XD for carry. They will be right around your $450 price range. They have shipped with Melonite finishes for quite a while now, so the finish issues of the early pistols have been resolved. I own an older 4" barrel XD 9mm, mine has the stainless slide, so finish was never an issue with mine. Really like the XD platform.

I got a brand new Glock 19 in January for $449.

Hell, I think you can get a Glock 22 factory used gun. With factory warranty night sights and 3 new mags. $349 at http://www.summitgunbroker.com

Bersa 9mm Ultracompact in SS:

Yep. My daily carry is a Firestorm Mini 9 (made by Bersa and basically the same pistol).
I have 2 Bersas and 2 Firestorms and all have performed excellently with no malfunctions (except my Firestorm .22). Also, the triggers smooth out very nicely after some shooting.

$349 brand new from CDNN. The Steyr absolutely cannot be beat in my opinion. As high of quality as ANYTHING on the market for half the price.
