[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Is it possible to switch barrels to convert a .40 Glock to a .357sig Glock?

I know you can with the Sig 239. I thought it might be possible with Glocks.

Since the G22 and G31 are the same size (as are the G23 & G32, G27 & G33) can you just buy a .357sig barrel for your .40 Glock and switch them out?

I have a G32 and a 40 cal barstol barrel.Just make sure your mags work.

Absolutely ok. However, it wasn't advised in earlier model G22 & g23s as the rails weren't beefed up enough to handle the .357 sig. Possibly someone can chime in with some s/n info.

Any model G27 can be upgraded to the .357 sig (no rail issues).

Your .40 mags should work fine as well.

If the glock in question has 3 pins than it is strong enough to handel the 357 sig. So I am told by some one that know's more than most of us about glocks. All so the 40 cal mag will work out fine. for those who dont know a 357 sig is a 40 necked down to 357.

I have a .40 round around here somewhere with .357 Sig stamped on it. Must have mixed up a batch of brass before necking and final assembly. I think it's UMC...

Not exactly, because all 40 cal Glocks have 3 pins. As stated the serial number is the key. Glock receivers(frames) with serial prefix "CNX" or newer, it is ok, earlier frames could and will crack.

Bingo! The frame had been beefed up when the 357SIG came out. It can be seen inside the dustcover. There is a steel insert that is mostly covered by polymer but without it a Glock will eventually fail with 357 SIGs.

My 40 cal only has two pins. It was made in early 1993 though
