Anyone having problems with your APL.

when shooting and using  APL and it  pops off?

Or just being drop a few feet?
Link Posted: 1/5/2014 7:08:10 AM EDT
My APL has never just popped off. A few matches and many range sessions without issue. I don't know about dropping it from a few feet, I'm not clumsy and have a proper holster.
Link Posted: 1/5/2014 8:04:50 AM EDT
Also saw the utube video of   a couple guys  using various pistols / APL  showing problems.

I've drop my pistol and the APL pop off .! Also one day  when making my bed the pistol fell off and hit the carpet and the APL pop off.

My APL has a little back an forth play when mounted on a P30S.

Since it pops off so easily . and with other reported problems from other users. ( pop off during shooting )

I might go to a streamlight TLR -1 HL or the smaller TLR-3

Never heard of those problems, if you end up selling yours please IM me

I have 2, one on my glock 21 and 1 on my m&p 9mm FS. Neither have that problem. Sounds like either out of spec rail, or improper lock bar installed

Got one on my G21SF and G17 and neither have come off, but then again I don't normally go around dropping my gun either.

along with my IWB-l holster!  I might sell it.

I really love the APL ergos. And want it to work.

I looked at the TLR-3  and the reviews wasn't so good at midwayusa.

I might end up buying a streamlight TLR-1 but I don't know if it will mount on a P30 short rail.

It will teach me to wait until my finger heals completely !

falling of my bed  well shit happens.

Then again  after 30 years of holding a permit and dropping a pistol twice? I think I'm doing okay!

Now are you using the APL while shooting with finger press on switch ? Like in the video?

TLR 1 will fit fine on a P30.

 You are correct!

I order a TLR-1 from midway usa and then I went to look at the streamlight website. and the P30 wasn't listed under TLR-1  but it was listed under the #3>
So I called and talk to some lady who said a pistol must have a 4-5 inch rail system.

I did a search over at the hk forum and saw several TLR-2  mounted on P30.

I hear it fits the last slot just like the APL?

Correct, it will fit on the last slot using the GLK adapter key, not sure if there is a specific key used for the P30, I use the GLK key on almost everything.

Why not the 1913 key?

Anyway!

I don't know why I didn't think of it before? But I have a carbine with a old RAS rail. I mounted the APL on it and its soild no play what so ever.

So the last slot on my P30S rail is out of spec

Ease of use, I do a lot of gun/light swapping at work and using the 1 key for everything just makes it easier.

Actually I just tried the apl on a p30, the locking bar would not close flush with either adapter. I think the clamp bars on the apl and the tolerance spec for the rail on the HK might be on the opposite ends of the spectrum. I've noticed this with some model FN's as well.

I've got a few TLR-1 lights on Glock 19s, but I really want to try the APL as I think it's probably the ideal light for a mid-size Glock. All these negative reports have me wondering if I should just spend my cash on more Streamlights instead.

I think that Inforce designed the APL around the Glock and M&P, seems like most having issues are using different guns.

APL come with a 1913 bar !

The 1913 bar has play between the P30 slots/rail !

I tried a Beretta 90two 1913 key to see if it had play.

The 90two key fits the rail with no slop. So I don't think my P30 rail is out of specs.

I bought  a older TLR-1 with 300 lumen

I didn't realize that the TLR-1 is about the same size as my APL? I was thinking by the pics it was much bigger.

I think in the end I will just by a older surfire!

I wouldn't recommend the APL unless you tested it or Streamlight  for hard use!
