In true ARFCOM fashion, I got both yesterday. A Colt 70 and a SA WWII GI. I was going to order the Colt NRM 80, but the 70 and the GI put a hefty enough dent in the (melting) plastic. Here are the two newest additions....

Is there much difference in quality amongst the 2? if you could only have one which one would you have chosen?

Good for you, Rich! Now, I assume that WWII is headed to YoBo for some sort of 1* treatment. Right???

Well, my vote still goes to the Colt, but then again it's much more expensive. The bluing fit and finish on the Colt is fantastic. That being said, the SA GI is verrrrry nice. The fit and finish on the SA is much much better than on my older ('99) "loaded". The slide/frame and barrel fit is tight, and the action is smooth. Of course I would recommend the Colt, BUT I would also highly recommend the SA GI. Definitely a "best buy".

Something like that. I'm thinkin' of one of the 70's to either John Harrison or Bob Rodgers for something like this...

And maybe the GI for something a little less fancy....but just as functional.

Damn Trumpet, you're a lucky SOB!

I can't find any Colts in this area

Are you going to shoot them before doing any mods? I'd like to know how the SA compares to the Pony.

Nice pistols.

You tell them Trumpet. If you're going to be addicted to something there are a lot of worse choices than a 1911. I share the same "affliction". BTW: Congrats!

I love my GI, I did put a long trigger tho

I've never owned or shot a 1911.

I was thinking of getting on but that's more ammo to buy & store.

If I was to get one I know I would want a SA WWII GI. They are just plan beautiful.
