I just acquired an expert in 45 acp. I was thinking of using reloads ( 200 gn copper plated SWC withj4.9 gn of bullseye powder).

Any comments/suggestions from you folks who use reloads in your pistols? Good idea? Bad Idea? recommendations?

I would say that it is a very good idea. It has helped me make extremely accurate repeatable loads for nearly all of my handguns.

I use reloads in all of my pistols/revolvers. The only thing that I buy is 9mm 100pks. from Wally World because it is cheap-cheap-cheap practice ammo for when i'm feeling too lazy to load some.

Good idea, definately.

That said, the only pistols I handload for are my .454 and .500 S&W. Im just too lazy to load 9mm or .45 auto. Maybe if I had a progressive re-loader....
