I dont know about rare but theyre sure not common.  I read once that some were made in attempts to interest the US Army.  The total production was very small if I remember correctly.

Real UZI pistols in 45 are medium rare.  There are lots of 9mm UZI's with conversion kits.  I had a real 45 UZI pistol for a short period of time and it was kinda cool, but I parted with it before the ban expired for a decent price.
