I actually carry 3 but it was not an option.
SIG 226 with 17+1 in the gun, a 17rd and 2 15rd mags as spares. I use my nylon duty mag carrier slipped int o my back pocket to carry the 2 15rd mags, and use OWB mag carrier for the other 17rd. I usually have about 65 rounds on person, unless I am staying local and then only carry the 1 17rd spare. |

2 spare mags for the 1911, and a spare speed strip for the 442.

Minimum of one for the 1911, two when I can swing it. One if I'm carrying the Glock.

One spare. Gives me a replacement in case of a malfunction and a total of 25 rounds to defend myself with.

Nope. Attempted armed robbery that ended in an exchange of gunfire in 2003. There is no feeling worse than having to restrain yourself because you have 7 rounds and ONLY 7 rounds while the MF is doing a 10+ round ammo dump upon his escape. |

2 extra. Each mag has a Glaser Silver for the first round (for proper feed), rest are Hornady TAP. 24+1 in total.

I carry two spare mags regardless of the the gun I'm carrying (G19 or 1911).

Ditto but sometimes I'll just throw one in the pocket when I'm in hurry and don't want to strap on the dual mag pouch. |

The last time I took a shooting class, I forgot to put the loaded mag back into my pistol although there was one already in the chamber. When it was my turn to shoot, I went bang, click...<oh crap> tap, tap, rack...click. <CRAP>. I tried to dump the mag, but there wasn't one. Glad I had another one my hip. Even more glad that this happened in training. My hands were pretty cold, so I think that's why I didn't realize the mag was missing.

I carry at least one reload, sometimes two, and when traveling more than 30 minutes from my home I bring along a few more and stick the AR in my truck.
