Man, I wanted one since they were introduced. I went to the store, fondled one and got a woody!

Well.... I bought it, A P2000 .40S&W DA/SA with night sights.

The P2000 is suppose to be wider than the USP but it felt slimmer and of course it is smaller in the other dimensions.

It felt very good in my hands.

P2K .40 V2 converted to V1.  It is OK I guess, but I like my USPC .45 V1 a lot better.

Had one... briefly. P2000 9mm v3. Mag floorplates pinched my fingers. Magazine release was sticky for some reason -- unlike the USPs I've had in the past.

I wish the P2000 had about 1" more barrel length. It would handle better.

It's slightly less muzzle-whippy than the USP9C I had. Between the two of them I think I'd take the USP9C believe it or not. The right-side slide release is unnecessary.

I've got big hands and interchangeable backstraps never help me. The biggest backstrap makes the P2000 look really odd and causes slide bite. For big hands I would recommend the medium-sized backstrap and the addition of a Hogue slip-on.

I have a P2K .40 V2 that I'm switching to V1 as soon as the parts arrive.  Still wonder what that V3 would have been like though.

I bought a P2000 .40 v3 Da/Sa a earlier in the year for my first handgun (first to own, not first to shoot) and absolutely adore it. Has an awesome feel in my hand, is remarkably easy to break down for field cleaning.

As far as "supposed to be wider" comment, its listed as slightly wider on their website and pamplets because they measure it at the widest point, which would be each side of the ambi slide release lever, but the actual grip, and feel of the gun should be slimmer than the USPc, in regards to CCW use.

I'm in search of a .357sig barrel for mine, going to see if I can order one from HK.

Oh yeah, BTW, mine is a low S/N unit... #859 to be exact.

In the future i would like to obtain a P2000sk also, and a USPc 45, and a USP Tactical, and a HK 91, and a HK94, and a SL8, and a couple others... oh yeah, can't forget that I want a MP5 h...

So I have a question for you guys what is the difference between this model

and this one?

I really want the one on the bottom for a carry option.  I like the slant of the trigger guard better I think.
To add I think I would rather have the LEM trigger group as well.

One of those is the German Police Model that they accidentally imported 1000 of.

They made a different version for the US market because the 10 round magazines of the GPM were too easily converted to 13 rounds...and this firearm was introduced just before the ban lifted.

The rail is also different spec.

Thats about it.  I too really like the GPM, and would have bought one, but the magazines are damn near impossible to find.

I love the looks of the one in the bottom picture and would love to have one but the one in the top, I just can't warm up to.  I am sure it would be a great shooter, all the HKs I have are but.......

I just picked up a P2000SK .40 V3. Haven't yet had the opportunity to shoot it. It's intended as a carry piece. My "plinker", big/scary one is a USP Full Size in .40.

I have a P2000 in .40 ... #335.  It's my carry pistol.  Love to shoot her, currently getting Mepro's installed.  Functions great!
