I would like to replace the extractor in one of my guns and another one I'm thinking of getting doesn't have an ambi safety and since it will serve double duty as house gun/SS gun I need the other side to have a safety as well.  I was reading on Brazo's sight on how to do it but would it really be that easy as they make it seem?

Buy a cheap one to learn on (ruin) first.

Not sure what advice Bob provides, but removing the thumb safety plunger and spring, and the grip safety helps.
