I’m a G19 guy but I’m looking to get something in .45. The G21 is too big. The G30’s grip looks too short.  How does the G30’s grip compare with the G19? Would you recommend the G30 to a G19 guy? Pros and cons? Can someone post a pic comparing the two?

Thanks

The only reason I got rid of mine was because I couldn't seat a full mag during a tac reload.

both are great guns––very reliable, etc

as to the grip, the G30SF might be a better comparison in grip size and imo is the better fit for most folks, esp if the G19 does fit; the reg G30's grip is noticibly ''fatter'', eventhough its only about .13'' (?) wider

i personally would opt for the G19...simply put, more rounds, cheaper overall, uses G18 mags, and imo, w/ a good load is still just as effective

As previously stated, it is fatter. And it is also shorter. You have to get the 10 round magazines that have the large base plate, or the 9 round mags with some kind of grip extension, to make it feel more like the Glock 19 or 23 in length. I don't know why they just didn't make the 10 rounder flush fitting, make the grip just a bit longer, and call it a compact, instead of a subcompact. Its still a great gun, but the XD 45 compact feels more like the G19 (grip length-wise), which is why I went with it instead.

You need to go to your local funstore and feel them for yourself, side by side. That's the only way you'll find out how they feel, not by asking couch commandos what they feel like.

I've got the Glock 30 (not the SF) and the Glock 19 (the one and only).  I like the grip of the Glock 30 as I have medium sized hands and it feels just a bit fatter than the Glock 19.  YMMV so try it out before buying.

Does anyone have anymore detailed comparison pictures?  Side by side, etc?

I have what I consider medium sized hands. I went from a 19 to the 30SF and am happy
with all aspects of it. If you haven't shot the Glock 45, you will probably be surprised at how
soft the recoil is. I carry my 30SF on and off duty. As usual, YMMV.

The G38 is the same frame as the G19 and a .45.    Sure its a .45gap, but is that so bad?

Yeah, when you want to find ammo.
