This pistol has eluded me and is whats missing in my collection... I know about the wants for an early Belgium Hi power... I just want a well made pistol.... Is the new ones steel framed ?????  Are they junk ? Hit or miss. Im looking or want a simple Standard or a MK III ... No anniversary type.  Thanks WarDawg

excellent...most all still made at FN plant in Belgium and assembled in Portugal...the most current are considered stronger than they were in the days of old...perhaps not as pretty but usable sights and safety (especially the ambi for us SouthPaws)...good to go if not a bit expensive but if you look around...places like Bud's has had them on sale for better than the usual asking price...

They are great guns.  The new Hi Powers, both standard and Mk III, are Mk III Hi Powers.  The standard is blued, whereas the Mk III has a functional, matte epoxy finish.  The frames are cast steel and more durable than previous models forged frames.

I have a new recently purchased MkIII, functions perfectly, shoots to point of aim, I like the black finish.
Definitely needs a trigger job.

My MKIII was manufactured in 2006, and is awesome. Feeds any HP I feed it, and shoots point of impact from 15-25 yards with 115 grain & 124 grain ammo. No mods, good to go. Trigger could be better, but believe me there are many other handguns out there that are much worse out of the box.

I have a 1989 Mark II and a 2005 Mark III.  There is no difference in quality––both are excellent.
