14 rounds of 45ACP goodness My wallet is gonna take a beating! |
Hot link: XD 45 ACP
I hope they didn't just take the XD9 and force the .45 ACP on it like Glock did with their 40 cals resulting in marginal chamber support and marginal metal around the cartiridge leading to higher rates of KBs. |
did you have problems with it ? |
Have they changed since the Para Ordnance? - (whatta newbie) 14 +1 = 15 rounds here! |
oooo.....I'm gonna be all over that like a fat girl on cake!
So the real question is can I buy these new .45 mags and use them to fit more ammo in my Xd 40 like you can use 40 cal. mags as hicaps in the XD 9's. And will they use whatever magic they used on this new .45 to fit more ammo in all their other calibers any time soon?

just in time for my b-day!!!!!1 |

Plllleeeeaaase. Every manufacture that sells both the 9mm and 40S&W do so in the same size frame. What does that have to do with Glock combining the two sizes? The reduced chamber support is a feature that was incorporated in order to ensure reliability. If it was truly a short coming I am sure a few more than a dozen of the hundreds of thousands, maybe even millions of 40's Glock has sold would be blowing up. Anytime you have a high pressure round like the 40S&W and idiots reloading their own ammo, you are going to get KB's. You do know that the majority of KB's have been caused by reloads right? And the majority of the rest can be attributed to faulty factory ammo? Do you know that Glock KB's account for something like .002% of all Glock sales? Yeah that's a real high rate. Don't tell me. Your one of those people that has personally seen 6 Glocks KB in the past year, right? |

Like I said over on 1911forums...
All they need to do now is make a 10mm XD and/or a 1911A1 Loaded! |
First Off Xanadu I've been shooting .45ACP for 22 years so I take offense to the "newbie".........yes the Para 14 has been out since the 80's and later in a commander length.........then there was the Glock .45..... the rules have changed as now there is going to be a "trim" and "lightweight" and "4 inch" .45acp that carries that much capacity in most likely just under the $500 bill mark once on gunbroker........ A SA for that price..............Ok maybe I am overexaggrating some..............but consider the likely price (not man sug retail) and you have to admit the "rules" (kinda a marketing slang) have changed at least a little. |

I've waited for this puppy ever since these pistols were made by HS Arms.
The .45 is high on my must buy list. |
The big question is if the slide and frame are the same size as the 9mm & .40S&W versions. If so then there are already security holsters on the market that will work. Otherwise, any LEO's are going to have to wait for the holster companies to catch up.
I still have every intention of at least seriously purchasing one. I prefer the XD over the Glock due to the fit in my hand. But one thing I see with that picture is notice how thin the walls of the magwell are compared to the Hk, Glock. It might just be the shadow and the bevel. But if it is as thin as it looks, maybe cause a problem with structural strength of the frame in that area? I need to check my 5" XD40 to see if it appears that thin as well. |
guess I better start scraping together my pennies now, this is a must have
the pictures all show "45ACP" stamped on the gun and the accesories/parts numbers Looks like I need another handgun :) |

Cool! I'll be putting an OD one on layaway when they come out.
That was mean. |
Yes, I too would like to know of the problems you had with your last XD.. |
I just duped this, can't wait to get one. HUUUUGE xd fan here been waiting for a while. Can't figure out what to wear to the 1911 funeral I'll be holding when I get my first pair of XD45ACP's....
Damn this is exciting. I like the XD so much I carry it more than my 1911. Now, I will have the .45ACP super duper death cartridge along with a lightweight reliable polymer framed handgun.
link to Springfield Armory XD45ACP made hot You should check out what they are offering with the first line of XD's in .45ACP. Free belt holster but they also have a magazine holster that comes along with it. |
But funny. |

+1 I am curious to know if they will be priced the same as the 9mm and 40's, since there does not seem to be a price listed anywhere that I have seen yet. The mag pouch and mag loader are a pretty cool idea, but to be honest I have purchased a 9mm and .40 for my parents, and those holsters are pretty cheesy. Very tempting though. |
nice option, I think a O/D is in my future
ETA looks like my cost will be 473.00 so that should be a good base |
And that's the one I'm going to get in line to get! |
this is very good news. They should be able to fit a 10mm on that frame.
Definately getting the .45acp but an XD in 10mm would make me very interested |
You obviously didnt own one of the Glock 22s in 1992 did ya? Early 22s were horribly over ramped many would show bulged cases with factory ammo. Cor Bon 135s were bulged so badly on my roommates gun that he shot only 2 rounds before going back to 180gr loads. This was after he saw what happened to mine after only 52 rounds of 155gr silvertips. It's no myth, they earned the rep. |
We just got the pricing info for it: 4” black and green $559 retail Bi-tone $595 retail 5” black and green $595 retail Bi-tone $626 retail There is the msrp from SA |
I'm a Glock fan but I must admit, I'm impressed...and kind of intrigued, too.
+1 I won't be a rush like some of y'all, but I'll be getting one to try out somewhere down the road. |
Rules have changed? Really. It's 13+1 in the chamber. Same as my Glock G21. PO really 14? Huh, gotta check on that. Still good for Springfield on bringing it out in .45. Guess the old round ain't dead yet,eh? |
