Hey all, I just picked up a factory refurbished Sig P229 in 9mm with a tactical rail. I was wondering what holster you all would recommend for daily use. Also, any tips or pointers for my new toy would be greatly appreciated Also where is a good source for some good and relatively inexpensive mags in 9mm?

Thanks
Joe

I would highly recommend Blade-Tech.
You may have to wait for your order but it's worth it.

i've heard that those rails chew up leather holsters, so a kydex might be your best choice. blade tech has been recommended, i've no personnal experience w/ them though. i have a fobus, i'm underwhelmed w/ it.

shotgun news has ads for mags, i would watch the ee here though. when i bought my 220 mags though i only bought factory (very few aftermarkets that i trust).

I'm using a Galco minimalist but I see you have rails so it may not be a good choice

I've been carrying my P226R for over two years in a Desantis Speed Scabbard leather pancake holster. The holster hasn't shown any excessive wear that I've seen, so I'm not sure where the "rails are bad for leather" thoughts are coming from...

The Speed Scabbard is a very well made, reasonably priced holster. It is nearly as "fast" as my Comp-Tac FBI paddle, and conceals CONSIDERABLY better than any kydex rig I've tried.

Kevin
